Shed Open for Inspection

City North Men's Shed will be open for inspection during the Millers Point Farmers Markets - come along and see what we do or talk to us about joining.

Sydney Heritage Fleet - Sydney's Best Kept Secret

Have you seen the tallship James Craig sailing around the harbour on a sunny Sydney afternoon? What about the steam vessels Lady Hopetoun or Waratah?  Have you ever wondered how the Sydney Heritage Fleet (SHF) keeps these magnificent vessels afloat and operating?

SHF Director Ray Rees will share some insights, anecdotes and photos from the SHF Collection in this presentation that brings some of Sydney’s maritime heritage to life.  Ray is a marine engineer with a passion for history.  He is also a published author and regular tour guide for the Navy Historical Society.

6:00 pm: Talk at the Shed, Abraham Mott Community Space, 15-17A Argyle Street, Millers Point (free)


7:15 pm: Dinner Upstairs at Hero of Waterloo Hotel, 81 Lower Fort Street, Millers Point (own expense)

Barangaroo Aboriginal Cultural Tour
10:30am Wednesday 11 October

We have selected the Aboriginal Cultural Tour of our magnificent Barangaroo Headland as our first CNMS excursion.  Full details of the tour can be found here,


The selected date is Wednesday 11 October 2023 running from 10:30am to 12:00pm. The tour is "public", so you just need to book your own tickets online ($22pp for Seniors/Concessions).  


The meeting point will be Munn St Entrance to Barangaroo and all directions etc are confirmed when you purchase a ticket.  Once you are booked please advise us that you are attending via RSVP@citynorthmensshed.org.au . Let us know if you are intending to join us for coffee/lunch afterwards.

S.H. Ervin Gallery Private Tour
10:00 am Wednesday 8 November

CNMS member, Hinda Kaunitz, also volunteers as a tour guide at S.H Ervin Gallery and has kindly arranged a private before-opening guided tour for us at 10:00am on Wednesday 8 November 2023. 


The tour is free to us, but we still need to pay the gallery admission on the morning.  Entry is $15 general admission, $12 concession/seniors, with National Trust members free.


The S.H. Ervin Gallery is one of Sydney’s leading public art institutions housed in the historic National Trust Centre on Observatory Hill. The Gallery’s exhibition program is designed to explore the richness and diversity of Australian art, both historical and contemporary, and present it in new contexts. The Gallery is renowned for encouraging research and promoting scholarly appraisal of artists from all periods of Australian art history. In addition, the S.H. Ervin Gallery has developed an excellent name for presenting important exhibitions and programs that recognise the valuable contribution made by Australian women artists.
